A PUBLIC school pupil has died in a motorcycle crash in Africa, according to reports.
The sixth form student died shortly before he was due to come home from Zambia, according to Eric Woods, the vicar of Sherborne, Somerset.
It is understood he was a pupil at the all boys Sherborne School.
The exact date of the incident is unknown but it is understood it happened during the Easter holidays.
Canon Eric Woods wrote the news in his weekly Western Gazette column, which was published on Thursday, May 2.
The passage read: “News came through today of the tragic death in a motorcycle accident of a sixth former at one of our schools just before he was due to fly home from Zambia for the start of the new term.”

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office was unable to confirm whether a pupil from a Sherborne School had recently died in Zambia.
But it did confirm there was a recent British national death.
A spokesman said: “We are in touch with the local authorities following the death of a British national in Zambia, and stand ready to provide assistance to the family if required.”
